Thank you AMMOPREVIZ for keeping the dream alive. I strongly suggest everyone check out the new forum and contribute their ideas. It's the best bet at holding the Antics3D community together.

Thanks AMMOPREVIZ for the invitation to your forum. I'm seriously thinking of adding and Antics assest section to my new 3D site. I think a repository of models and textures and other handy tools would be benefical to the community.

Thanks for setting up the forum and the invite - I'm signed up as well. It's strange - though I fully intend to learn iClone, due to the resurrection of an Antics community, I'm realizing I'm not quite done with Antics yet. :)

@ afterThought,
I went to the Iclone site and just about spent some cash on it, but decided that Antics, even without official support, could still do what I wanted, and that is previz. Anything else I can add in post. There's a host of other software out there to add sfx and other things into Antics videos.
Instead of forking out for Iclone I'm looking more at post production tools such as FXHome Vision Lab Studios, and plugins for After Effects.
One good investment, in my mind, is the AE tutorials by Video Co-pilot and the sfx software Particle Illusion by Wonderworks.

@Colonel_Klink

Yes, I know all about Video Copilot - brilliant stuff. I follow the blogs and tutorials religiously and I have most of their products (can you wait for Pro Scores?!? - yay!).

If by producing previs, does that mean that you just need Antics to function like a detailed storyboard for the production of other media? If so, I can certainly understand your decision. Antics is still an awesome program for that. My general issue with it is that the Antics production is my final media and my focus is on 3D Filmmaking.

I have zero modding knowledge or any of that other stuff I see people using it for/modifying it with. For what I would like to do, emotional elements and character customization are key. If there was a chance of those being developed, I'd be all for staying solely with Antics, but I doubt that will happen now.

Yes, iClone cost a pretty penny but I don't regret giving in... yet. :) In any case, I'm not abandoning Antics altogether - just adjusting what I use it for.

@ afterThought
I understand completely where you're coming from. Having been involved with gaming development for a few years ago I've picked up a lot of modeling and modding skills.
The emotions and character development are definitely needed for 3D film making, I agree. And would be an absolute bonus for previz as well.
I have my fingers crossed that we will get the abilty to do these things.
For one of my projects I need the abilty to animate some vintage vehicles. That said, by combining footage from several games and Antics I can still do 99% of what I want in Antics.
Don't get me wrong, I think Iclone is a great package, and at some stage I'll probably purchase it.
